Unlike its predecessor, the B2's delicate processing unit and signal receptor are buried deep inside the torso, offering much more protection from enemy fire. Also, the sturdy frame of the super battle droid is larger and more heavily armored than that of a B1. To remedy this, the super battle droid does not rely on such a signal and has a greater capacity for independence. One of the main design flaws of the standard B1 battle droid is its reliance on a Droid Control Ship to provide a signal if the ships are disabled, the battle droids become useless. B2's were used by the Trade Federation, the Techno Union, and later, on a much larger scale, the Confederacy of Independent Systems. For this reason, they are rarely seen in levels that are vehicles-only.The B2 Super Battle Droid (SBD) is an upgraded version of the B1 Battle Droid, with superior armament and armor. In Star Wars: The Clone Wars the super battle droid does not pose much of a threat in most situations, however they are fairly difficult to defeat when the player is not in a vehicle. Generally five melee punches with your vibrobladed gauntlet will kill them. Melee attacks, however are the most effecient way to kill these droids, but watch out they will hit back. It is one of the hardest of all of the enemies in the game. The B2 has a powered-up blaster cannon on its arm along with wrist rockets. It is much harder to dispose of than the original B1, taking several shots with a DC-17m sniper attachment, one shot with the anti-armor attachment, or scores of shots with the blaster attachment. In Star Wars: Republic Commando, the B2 appears as a much-enhanced battle droid. The non-built in weapons do not have a disadvantage in comparison to built in weapons, during the game, as Jedi and other units cannot remove other units weaponary in Renegade Squadron. In Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron the super battle droid still has various built in weapons such as the wrist blaster in place of the blaster rifle when it is chosen from the customization menu, however they can now carry non-built in weapons such as the chaingun, in stead of their built in weapon.
