To enable IMAP, log in to your Gmail account from any of the browser you are using at the moment and get in to Options. Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they helped. If you want to sync your Gmail account with your Microsoft Outlook, the IMAP server should be enabled.

To backup folders marked with “This computer only”, please check the steps in Select the data file of the IMAP account and press: Open File Location… To determine the location of the ost-file, go to File-> Account Settings-> Account Settings…-> tab Data Files. old while Outlook is closed but make sure you backup any folders marked with “This computer only” first.
